SAN ANDREAS (2015)

(Rockingham County, NC) – So, I had a little bit of time on Friday afternoon, to run by the Kingsway Cinemas in Eden, NC, to check uot the latest offering from Warner Bros. featuring Dwayne Johnson, Carla Gugino, Alexandra Daddario, Paul Giamatti, Ioan Gruffudd, and Archie Panjabi. I will be honest, I went into the showing with ZERO expectations and was merely looking for a afternoon distraction filled with CGI, and on that point I was not disappointed.

The 1 hr. 54 min. feature is loaded with CGI as the State of California is torn asunder from a ‘Seismic Swarm’ event, in which Dwayne Johnson plays Chief Ray Gaines, a Rescue helicopter pilot with the Las Angeles Fire Department, bent on saving his soon to be ex-wife and daughter from this destructive spectacle.

My reviews are not as polished as others so I will give you links below and as to give away spoilers from the story-line (YES, there actually is a story-line in among the shaking, rabble and rubble).

I will say that, I enjoyed the movie, as I am an Action and Effects Kinda Guy and It achieved for me the desired effect of taking my thoughts off of the daily grind for a little while and provided a decent distraction for me in the comfort of my hometown theater.
