WFMY News 2 & Civil Rights Center Raise $100K

GREENSBORO, NC – WFMY News 2 successfully partnered with Greensboro’s International Civil Rights Center & Museum (ICRCM) in a unique telethon and fundraiser that produced more than $100,000 for Greensboro’s landmark civil rights center. The Juneteenth Telethon was hosted by WFMY veterans Sandra Hughes, Lee Kinard and News 2 anchors Tracey McCain, Eric Chilton, Frank Mickens and Julie Luck. They were joined by High Point’s Grammywinning singer Fantasia, the Rev. Jesse Jackson and others who called on a community that spoke financially to support the ICRCM’s new educational initiative – Building a Better America through Core Democratic Values.
