Gov Perdue Nominates Rockingham County Woman to Serve

(Wentworth, NC) – On Thursday, March 4, 2010, Kay Miley, was sworn in to serve on the NC Statewide Independent Living Council. The oath was administered by Pamela McLain. Miley’s term took effect immediatly and will last till September 2010, at which time Miley will be eligible for a full 3 year term. Why such a short period for this first term? She has been involved in one form or another in helping people with a disability since 1986, when she was a Rehab Nurse at Baptist Hospital.
