100413-2charged-Vandalism(Eden, NC) – On Monday, September 30, 2013, at approximately 12:15 am, officer with the Eden Police Department responded to the Rockingham County Emergency Services building located at 328 W. Stadium Drive, in reference to vandalism.  Upon arrival, Officer Yvira Baez found graffiti spray painted on the garage door of the EMS building. Officers began checking the area and found the same type of graffiti at Cunningham Tire located at 105 N Kennedy Street, spray painted on the side of a truck in the parking lot.

Officer Lee Pruitt and Yvira Baez recognized the graffiti to be the same symbol and numbers as a tattoo that Christopher Kelly Cunningham has tattooed on his forearm. Officer Lee Pruitt and members of the Eden Police Department went Cunningham’s residence located on Primitive Street in Eden. As Officer Pruitt was pulling up in front of the residence, Officer Pruitt noticed a spray paint can lying in the roadway and the same type of graffiti spray painted on the roadway in front of Cunningham’s residence.  Officer Pruitt made contact with Cunningham concerning the graffiti and the empty can of spray paint and continued the investigation.

As a result of the investigation, Christopher Kelly Cunningham (16) and Luis Enrique Garcia (18) have been charged in this case.
