Pay Off Your Library Fines With A Canned Food Donation
(Wentworth, NC) – Rockingham County residents, who have past due fines at their Public Library, can pay off those fines with a donation of canned food items, starting Dec. 1st. The program will run till Dec. 23rd. The Rockingham County Public Library’s “Food for Fines” program will allow library patrons who owe library fines to receive amnesty.
The way the program works, is that One can of food forgives one dollar in fines at all Rockingham County Public Libraries and the Bookmobile. Library branches are located throughout the county in Eden, Madison, Mayodan, Reidsville, and Stoneville.
The “Food for Fines” program is only for fines. Charges for lost or damaged materials or other fees will not be forgiven. Donated food must be non-perishable and up-to-date on expiration. All food donations will be taken to local agencies.
