The Council also held a Public hearing for a proposed Re-zoning request for 606 Long Street from Residential-20 to Residential-Suburban, this Rezoning request was met with a few members of the citizens gathered speaking in opposition to the re-zoning, expressing concerns about what future development might occur with such a change in the zoning. The Council tabled the request for a period of 30-days to allow more time to look into the re-zoning before making a ruling on the request.

Duke Energy District Manager Davis Montgomery, gave a presentation to update the Council on the construction on the gas-powered plant that is currently under construction next to the exisiting steam plant in Eden.

During the meeting, which all council members were present, with the exception of Councilman Turner, the Reidsville City Council, took action on 4 different Public Hearings, the first was the consideration of a Economic Incentives Agreement for Albaad/AFG Wipes. City Manager Kelly Almond, during the City Manager’s Report, brought before the board a request for funds to cover the repairs of the Solid Waste Transfer Station equiptment on Scales Street in Reidsville.  View these Council decisions and more in the video above.
