Camp Dan Valley Road Bridge Replacement in Rockingham County

REIDSVILLE – N.C. Department of Transportation contractors will begin work this week replacing the Camp Dan Valley Road Bridge that crosses Carroll Creek in Reidsville.

“Built in 1955, the existing bridge no longer meets the demands of the traffic using it,” said Division 7 District Engineer Jason Julian.

A portion of the road will close from 8 a.m. Friday, Oct. 6, until work is complete in January 2018. A portion of the road closed today, Monday  Oct. 9, and will remain closed until work is complete in January 2018.

Motorists will be able to detour around the closure using Ashley Loop, N.C. 87 and Wentworth Street.

This project is part of the department’s overall bridge program to improve the condition of the state’s bridges and ensure the safety of drivers who rely on them.

NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
